Megan had her third eye surgery today. She is getting braver each time but I think I am having a harder time with it. Megan did great. She got a little weepy when they tried to put her identification bracelet on and when they were taking her vitals but other than that she did super. In the past she has been given a sedative upon arrival which kicks in around the time that they take her into the surgery and she is calm and happy, this time however, the doctors decided against it and she went in drug free. After the vitals though, the doctors were second guessing their decision, but Megan proved them wrong. She left our arms and went to the anesthesiologist with a sad face but a strong spirit and Dr. Serlin said she helped him with the equipment and requested the Peter Pan story which he told her as she fell asleep. My hat goes off to those doctors and that special gift they have. If you ever have to put your child under he is the man. He even called us the night before at home to let us know that Megan would be well taken care of and we had nothing to worry about. Megan's doctor, Dr. Salevitz was very impressed with Megan and her bravado and said the surgery went great. Hopefully we are finished with glasses but time will tell. Just so you all understand, Megan has perfect vision and the glasses and surgeries are for straightening the eyes only.
Anyway, Megan has been a trooper all day. She has slept for most of it, waking only to go to the bathroom and drink the coveted strawberry shake. Her eye is red and puffy but other than that everything is great! Thanks Wendy for looking after Haley and Nathan. You are the best!

These are the before pictures. She looks just as cute after too but won't let us take any more pictures. Love to you all!

Yeah for surgery! I don't think I have ever gone in for invasive surgery in my whole life, so Meggy....kudos to you! What a brave, strong girl!
Thanks for playing with us during Christmas. We had loads of fun and I am sure Duke misses all of the hustle and bustle ;)
Megan - We are so proud of you! You are so brave! Your doctor sounds very nice! We are sad that we couldn't come to visit this week, but hopefully we'll see you again soon.
Grey Family, My heart hurt so bad reading this, I can't imagine sending my little girl into surgery, but we do what we have to I guess. I am such a baby I cry when they give Taylor shots. Your children are all so tall and beautiful, can't imagine where the time went, yesterday I was watching you wrap the twins up like burritos, taking notes on how to do it so well! I am linked to Sarah so come visit our site if you get time.
Meggy- You are so brave, I am so proud of you! Dukey gives you a big kiss. We love you lots Meg.
I am glad to hear that the surgery went well...what a brave girl, thank goodness for great doctors!!!
What is Peter Pan island? Is that Disneyland? I'm confused and I feel foolish for not knowing.
I just checked the countdown again. It's like 125 days away, so it couldn't be Disneyland. Maybe its a new Peter Pan movie. I'm stumped.
