Going Green!

In keeping with our funny ways we celebrated St. Patrick's Day in the usual, make a whole day out of it event. It started out by making Leprechaun Brownies - to be shared and eaten later that day, then we decked ourselves out in matching green t-shirts and headed to the park to meet Wendy and company for lunch and games. I forgot the camera, but I will say we were the hit of the park with our Gazillion Bubble blower and the parachute! We also took the automatic ball pitcher and tried our hand at knocking smaller kids heads off as they walked in front of batting practice. At the heat of the day we left the park and headed to McDonald's for ice cream cones and then back home to enjoy them in the backyard - here's where the pictures come in. After playing hard all day and delivering some of our coveted brownies to some very special friends, we sat down to our version of corn beef and cabbage (BBQ beef sandwiches and fruit salad with homemade french fries) and of course our Leprechaun Brownies! I can't bring myself to make green food. However, our brownies did have a mint green frosting hidden under that chocolaty gooey topping! All in all, it was a fun way to spend one of our stay at home spring break days. (more to come!) Hope you all had a fun St. Patrick's Day too!

The day at the park was a blast and I know the kids had a good time - they were exhausted afterwards. And yes, you were the hit of the park. Thanks for celebrating St. Patty's for us!

I'm with you on not eating green food. Your dinner sounded delicious! I'm making mint/chocolate brownies tomorrow in your honor because they just look so good in your pictures. Looks like the kids had a great day. They're always so happy. We love them!

Love your take on corned beef and cabbage! :) Had we known you guys were so into St Patty's day we would have invited you to the parade with us. We go each year...so much fun! It's in Phoenix on the Saturday before the big day. We'll have to plan for next year...
