I love my sisters -
they are kind, thoughtful, funny and always there for me - even if I don't want them! With having 3 girls of my own I have always hoped for them the same relationship between them that I have with my sisters. Last week I saw the beginning of such a relationship and yesterday just about brought me to tears with the love that I witnessed.

Usually, I hear normal sibling bickery between the girls, then the next moment they will be playing and giggling like crazy. Last week, in an instant, Haley began to feel sick and before I could even respond Megan was there as a nurse-maid, by her side and rubbing her head. I made sure Haley was alright, gave her the usual medication and the infamous throw-up bowl and then was called away by other duties. Megan never left Haley's side. She helped her walk to the bathroom, because apparently this sickness made your legs not work, then she helped me by getting Haley's pajamas and slippers and blanket so that we could make a bed for her on the couch. She also got her a small drink of water - cuz lemonade makes your tummy hurt worse! She sat by her through the movie that Haley got to choose and held her hand when she cried due to stomach pain and the nasty aches. She was such sweet sister and I was so proud of her. I know this sounds a little hokey, but Haley really was sick and running a pretty high fever. That night Megan even informed me that she would listen for Haley during the night and come get me if something was wrong.
Seriously, I almost cried with love and pride for my little 5 year old's care and concern for her sister.

Seriously, I almost cried with love and pride for my little 5 year old's care and concern for her sister. Now I know what you must be thinking, Megan is the sweet, caring, peacemaker of the family, and you are correct. However, yesterday the roles were reversed. Megan suddenly took sick with this same sickness (it hits suddenly and hard - no lying), and Haley was there before I even knew Megan was ill. All the behaviors Megan showed the week before were there in Haley and even more so because yesterday I had Wendy's children here too and Haley made sure no one came near Megan, so that they wouldn't get sick also. Haley carefully, helped me move Megan to my room and then made a sign to hang on my door that read - quiet please Megan is sick! All keep out! I helped her spell a few words, but she drew the picture and hung it on my door. (I just realized it got thrown away before I could take a picture of it.) Haley sat on the bed and held Megan's hand while Megan napped and watched a movie.

So cute!! Your girls are so special. They must have an awesome mom to know how to treat their sisters. You are a great example to them Kimmy. I am so lucky to have you as my sister. Thanks for all you do, you are the best!
Ok, so I must be the biggest sap too. Because I started crying too throughout the whole post. It sent me right back to the time I had an awful delivery with Madison, and MY big sister came and helped me walk to the bathroom and held my hand when I didn't feel well.
Our children are little mirrors of ourselves. I love my big sister, no matter how crazy we make each other.
This is so sweet. I loved reading all of it and seeing the older pictures of the girls. They are really just beautiful!
How sweet! I love the picture of your girls in this post. They sure do love each other! It must be a real treat to watch twins, especially girls since they don't mind being mushy. :)
Cute girls! Mine hate each other, most the time and ignore each other the rest of the time...but then, once in a great while, I get to witness some residual love they must have helt at one time in their life ;)...and then it's back to business as usual. So glad to see your little ones loving each other :)
Yes, I, like Jenny, was crying through the whole story partly because I can hear your girls and what and how they would say things. Your girls are just way too sweet and just when you're about to break the twins are the ones who show more love and compassion - even to their adopted sisters, Kate and Lizzie - and how lucky we are to have them in our lives. Almost as lucky as I am to have a sister like you. No one can replace my sisters!
