The Very First Thanksgiving

This year, I was lucky enough to create the Thanksgiving feast all by myself. With a little advice and after many questions on timing - I got all the food to the table hot and ready to eat. This was the very first Thanksgiving meal I have done alone and the first Thanksgiving we have spent in our own little home. Jeff's parents joined us and we had a wonderful family Thanksgiving. The morning started out with pancakes in the park. This was sponsored by Jeff and his Elders Quorum presidency. The turn out was HUGE and I think the men and boys had a great time pretending to be pro athletes while playing their "flag" football. I know I enjoyed talking with all the wives and watching my children run around with all the other kids there at the park. I think I like not having to fix breakfast - those were the only dishes I didn't have to do that day! And, since I had fixed the whole meal the day before, I had nothing to rush home for and the whole day went like that - just relaxing and enjoying family! Thank you Dave and Sandi for thinking that my food was good and traveling so far to be with us and share our first Thanksgiving at home! Just like Jeff's iron man, I'm not sure I want to do another one next year, but I will definitely do it again.
A little shout out to my mom - after all these years...I have always loved your Thanksgiving dinner, it is my favorite of the year, and although I have always appreciated all the work you do to make it wonderful, this year I have a complete respect and love for you and all those years you had to do this by yourself and yet managed to look fresh and ready when you sat down to that incredible meal! I love you mom and the lessons you have taught me and the traditions you have instilled in me to pass to my own children. Thank you and I love you!

Looks like a yummy dinner! And even though we weren't together, it still looks like we ate the same things, so it's like we were together right?! :) Glad you had a good Thanksgiving!
