Cooking with a light bulb has got to be the worlds craziest idea, but for some reason it appeals to all 9-12 year old girls. I was one of those girls, loved making the cakes that were the size of my hand and never cooked through. I swore I would never have one for my girls, but I realized that maybe, just maybe it was the beginning of my love for food and cooking. Now Paige is the proud owner of The Easy Bake Oven. Here is her first cooking experience.
Stir all ingredients in completely over sized bowl. (seriously, the recipe called for 2 tbs. of water to 3 tbs. cake mix!)
Make sure you clean as you go. Cleanliness is next to Godliness.
Insert cake into 100 watt oven and bake for 15 minutes.
Add 1 tbs. water to frosting mix and pour flavorless brown liquid over flat dense cake.
Spread with Barbie sized spatula.
Really, fork AND knife?
Yummmmm! Move over Julia.

I'm glad to see Paige will eat her own creations! My girls always made them for ME & it was pretty hard to PRETEND to eat them, all the while praising their fabulous work :-)
I LOVE the easy bake oven! That looks, well...cooked by a light bulb good! Love the fork and knife, a real "foodie" You are the best mom ever
Those ovens are hilarious to me. I never had one so it's kind of unfair for me to have an opinion...but cooking with a light bulb???? It makes me crack up each time I hear it! After seeing Paige's 100 watt smile though, I might just have to get one for Eden one day.
I am laughing so hard about the flavorless brown liquid. I totally hear you, but to a little girl, it is just the epitome of fun! I am glad you are nice enough to let her go for it!
