Matriculate

The first day of school, a bitter-sweet day.  While the girls were ready and anxious to get going, Nathan was a little unsure.  He was so exicted to buy a lunchbox, but when he finally realized he wouldn't be home for lunch his mood quickly changed.  After explaining to him that he would get to eat with all  his friends and have 3 recesses he gained a bit of his excitement back.  The after school reports came back great.  Each child loves their new teacher and seems ready for the new year.  Nathan still thinks that the day is too long.

Paige is in 5th grade, Megan and Haley in 2nd, and Nathan in 1st, they are all gone for seven hours.  WHAT!!!   I thought I was ready for them to be gone all day, as it turns out, not so much.  Right now my outlook is this:  SEVEN HOURS OF SILENCE!  I do have a list as long as my leg of goals I would like to finally accomplish, but right now, the silence is haunting and is just going to take some getting used to.  I love watching them learn and grow - but do they have to do it so quickly?

Oh the first day of school! Such a bitter sweet moment! They look so big and I don't think that they should go to school, just come and hang out with me all day! Good luck with this year in school, we will miss the frequent trips, but look forward to vacations and drips to Disneyland!

I dread the day that Eden is gone to school too! You'll be a pro by then though and you can direct me. :) Or I can just show up on your doorstep looking lost and forlorn and you can take care of me??????? :)

Wow - can't believe you guys are already back in school. And even more amazing is that Nathan is a 1st grader. Porter felt the same way about the length of the day when he started 1st :-) I'm not sure if he has ever gotten used to it!!

I can't believe your baby is in 1st grade! Where did the last six years go?? Seven hours to yourself...amazing! I just have Logan (3 yrs old) home with me again this year, but he gets to go off to preschool twice a week now. I had forgotten that we both have 5th and 2nd graders. And now I have a junior high school kid! Yikes! Today's his first day, can't wait to hear how it went. Of course, I'm not his real mother. I couldn't be that old...
