Any American boy can be a basketball star if he grows up, up, up.

Nathan's interest in basketball is growing.  He loves it (it must be in the blood).  It is a great motivator around here.  Anything he argues, tries to get out of, or flat out refuses to do, is quickly followed by the comment, "okay then, no basketball this week.  I'll just call coach Bryce..." then the quick response of, "okay mom!"  I love having so much power over him.  Why didn't I discover this years ago?!
But seriously, he has developed the love that his dad has for the game.  Loves watching it, loves playing it, loves talking about it.  We have put him on a team with a wonderful coach and a few friends from the neighborhood.  He's really good at defense (because he's so tall), but if we could only get him to play offense when he moves down the court!  He's very fast and can totally take the break away, but when he gets down the court he instantly goes back to defending the guy he was told to guard...guess we need to work on that a little more.
He had his first game last week, while his sisters were bored out of their brains, his dad was beaming with pride.  They both loved it and can't wait for Saturday's game.
By the way, they don't keep score at this level yet, but we totally rocked our first game 42-28!
(P.S.)  I just got a new camera and still haven't figured it out completely.  When I do, I will get better pictures of him playing.

I am so bummed that we're not there to cheer him on and be totally bored out of our minds like the girls. I'll have to cheer from here for him. He's such Jeff's boy, in more ways than one...."Who was that?"

SO CUTE KIM! Nathan did great last game! We have both games on video, and will try to put them online for everyone to see. I love his sweet new shoes also.

We wanna come watch a game! We wanna watch Nathan handle the ball and own the court!
Maybe it will spur Kian on to actually tolerate ANY sport....he's such a lazy bones!
