Our Thanksgiving Holiday is usually the same. Disneyland, beach, fantastic feast, family, family and more family. Oh, and let's not forget the shopping with mom and sisters. My idea of the best holiday traditions ever.
It all started at Disneyland. It was busy, it was crowded, it was a little crazy, but I loved it! Sarah and Luke drove down to join us. Mom was a trooper and stood in the longest lines while we went on the rides with the shorted wait times. We stayed to watch the magic snow fall - which is still magic to me - some of my children told me they thought is was just bubbles from the light tower...what do they know anyway? Silly kids!
| It was a long day to wait for the snow for this little guy. He was such a trooper! |
Wednesday was filled with cooking and haircuts - we all got new "do's" to help us look spiffy for our family pictures.
Thursday - now that is the day we love. It started out dark and threatening to rain, but we decided rain or no rain our traditions will hold true, and we headed down to the beach. It is always beautiful at the beach, why do we doubt? It was a little cool, but the kids were in the water immediately and up to their necks in fun. We roamed, climbed ran, hunted for clams (unfortunately, none made it back for the table) and generally had a great time working up our appetite for dinner.
Before we left, we fed the birds their dinner and then headed home for a few family photos, painted turkeys and a feast that lasted two days. We ate, ate, and ate some more. We went shopping (not too early) and came back and ate again.
Saturday morning found us leaving mom's home and heading north to Thousand Oaks to visit the Gray side of the family. We don't often get to see each other, but boy howdy you wouldn't know it the way the kids have so much fun together! We spent Saturday with them and can't wait to see them again on our trip to the North Pole!
This ended our week long vacation holiday, leaving us wanting more. It was a great holiday, filled with family - everything I could have asked for and more. I just love this time of the year!
