Hippity Hop

It seems like the holidays keep piling up on each other and before we can enjoy one, it's over and I almost miss celebrating the next one.  Wasn't it just New Years?

For Easter this year, to avoid the "hare to day, gone tomorrow" syndrome that is taking over, I pulled out an old book of a week of Easter.  I know there are a million on Pinterest, but I liked this one better.  Not to mention, I bought the book when Paige was 1!  It's called "A Christ Centered Easter" by Janet and Joe Hales.  It's wonderful. It lays out the whole week for you with lessons and discussions and activities for all ages everyday of the week.  Even better, it gives you so many ideas that you can do it for at least 4 years running and never do the same activity twice! I only got pictures of Thursday's activity,  but each day, and with each activity we added a GAK picture to our time line and it was fun to hear the children tell everyone and anyone who walked into the house what the pictures were for and what each one represented.
Picture for documentation only - not pretty
As for Thursday's activity, we chose to attend the Mesa Temple's Easter Pageant again this year.  I love it,  the kids love it, it rounded out our whole week of discussion, and the weather was perfect!  Megan and Haley brought along one of their friends and we ate, played and took pictures with the cast members.  It makes for a very LONG night, but it is well worth it.

Easter morning came bright and early and went VERY quickly...Jeff had 8 a.m. meetings so in the matter one hour we did Easter baskets and the egg hunt. It was rushed, but it was fun.

The egg hunt happened indoors this year. My backyard is still trying to recover from the hard winter, so it was difficult to hide too many eggs for my super hunters.  It was different. The kids had fun.  Maybe next year too!

Love Easter Sunday morning, and all of the smiles!

And then of course there's dinner.

The week has come and gone.  I love this time of year.  I am grateful for the sacrifice that was made so that I can be with these bright smiley faces for eternity.

You are amazing and I love the pictures of the kids. They are growing up too fast for me and I miss them (and you) so much! Next year we are at the pageant for sure! Paige is looking too grown up and can't believe that she'll be in YW in August. You know what's funny...I did the same thing with my plastic easter eggs for a decoration too! Great minds think alike!

It was our first year of Easter Sunday meetings in the AM too. It doesn't get my vote. :)
And yes, it was just New Years! What is happening to this year?!
