March Maddness

What's that saying:  " March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb"?  Our whole March was "lion" if you ask me.  Between sports, church, travel and holidays...life as we know it is always crazy!
This was our St. Patrick's day.  Every year I wonder why we celebrate this holiday...we are not Irish (more like English and German to be exact), and although I love my yard to be green, it is not my favorite color. That being said, my kids love any opportunity to pinch and tease and celebrate. So, we celebrate with games and good food, and always family.

I just love my crazy little leprechauns!
We missed out on our newly formed tradition of parade watching with friends, but we made up for it, I think.  The kiddos did tell me that next year, missing was not an option...

Then, speaking of sports, I guess with the weather here in AZ its all sports all the time.  Nathan's choice after soccer was baseball and for a week the overlapped!  We would run from soccer practice to baseball practice, luckily the two were just across the park from each other, but for awhile there I felt like a permanent resident of Desert Mountain Park and Taco Bell!
So, closing ceremonies for soccer and opening season baseball were back to back.  Nate loves it though and he is really doing well in everything he lays his hands (and feet) on!

As far as Nathan was able to kick the soccer ball, he also hits the baseball just as powerful and just as far.  He has a very proud papa right now!

Can you see ZZ Top sitting in the stands just above Nate's head?  Yeah, we can draw a crowd!
Nathan is loving baseball, I am not loving the lifestyle (this is where Jeff and I disagree).  He has improved so much in just a short time and you will find him tossing balls and setting up make-shift batting cages in the backyard when not at practice with the team.  He constantly has a HUGE wad of gum in his mouth and he and Jeff are found regularly watching a game on t.v. when they aren't throwing balls at each other.  The girls are being super at supporting him at his games ( not really a choice ), but secretly I think they just love the 2 hours of "ward night" and unsupervised time down at the baseball fields. :)
Nate and Jeff even jumped the fan fence and attended an ASU baseball game with some friends.  Nate was in heaven and even got a picture with Sparky.
Even with growing pains and a bruised hip from sliding into second and home he's still all smiles.  Why is that you ask? Cuz, "There's no crying in baseball.  There's NO CRYING IN BASEBALL!"

Love it! He has the perfect build for a baseball player. I think it's a great match! You are such a good mom for living at Desert Mountain Park! I hope I can be as cool as you someday!
