Gobble till you Wobble

This is my favorite holiday...the food is great, the company is great, the whole day is great.  In fact who and what I'm grateful for is great!

Apparently I only took pictures of the table this year...but our activities for the day included going to the Turkey Bowl (neighborhood football game), watching the parade, playing round after round of ping pong, a few games of "Don't Eat Tom!"  and of course eating, eating and eating.  David and Joy and crew came over to join us.  With Tate on his mission this year I thought for sure we would have TONS of leftovers, but Kevin made up for Tate being gone and the leftovers were kept to a respectable low.  Thanks Kev!

The day before the great day, the school had it's annual Turkey Trot and Turkey Relay.  The kiddos love this day.  This year, I joined in and supervised.  So glad I did as Nate was chosen to compete in the Turkey Relay for his class.   There were 13 kids per class.  Each person had to carry a 10-15 lb. turkey the length of the field one way and run back, then tag the next person.  Nathan was the anchor man.  By the time it was his turn to run, the
team that was in the lead was almost 3/4 of the way to their turkey and ready to head back.  Nate and his long legs sprinted across the field like it was the width of the sidewalk, picked up the turkey and passed the other team's runner before she was even halfway back.  This kid's got skillz!!!!!!!  He was so excited...it was talked about for the rest of the day!

There were 4 classes competing at the same time.  The competition/rivalry was really only between two of them, especially when Nate took off.  The other two classes basically stopped and watched him take off like a rocket and then sat a cheered...they completely forgot to finish the race!

Nathan is definitely a 4th grade legend...I heard all about the race...a million times over from Kian and Rosie. :) Must have been pretty spectacular! That's how Gray's do---super spectacular. Way to go Nathan!
