Random April Happenings

Time seems to be flying these days.  I feel like I am barely getting Christmas decorations put away and it's already Easter!  This month was full of baseball, as this seems to be not only America's favorite pastime, but ours as well.  Nathan loves it and Jeff does too.  The days are filled with baseball practices, baseball talk, baseball food, and great baseball buddies from the team.

Did I mention it also includes going to other baseball games?!  Sure do love these boys we have "adopted" into our family, and Nathan LOVES having some more males to balance out the females in our home!
In other news, Nathan also completed his Bear requirements for Scouts and got to "fight the bear" during the awards ceremony.  He came out victorious, munching on "bear claws" with enough to share with the pack.  Oh what a happy boy and his dad!

But enough about this cute boy of mine.  April also means the Spring Sing Concert at the school.  This was Megan and Haley's last year to perform (6th Graders are too cool I guess...).  It was also their year to shine.  They both sang and danced to one of our favorites, Singing in the Rain.  Haley was hidden behind a speaker the whole time, but it was sure fun to watch the smiles on their faces. Love these two beautiful performers!

Paige performed this month too!  Her honors choir traveled to California to perform and compete in a Choral Competition against several other schools from around the nation.  We were the youngest school there (only having been a choir for 2 years - compared to lifetime schools that compete here every year), but we kicked patooties!  We took GOLD!!!!  Yes, our tiny, new, little school...still consisting of Jr. High kids in the honors choir (we still even don't have a senior class!)  won!  They were amazing!  Paige had a blast being on her own for the weekend.  I worried endlessly, but was super grateful for a wonderful teacher and chaperons that I knew personally to look after my girl. We drove out separately to watch them perform and mom and dad joined us.  I couldn't be prouder of my girl.  She constantly amazes me.

I know I'm her mom and completely biased, but she is the cutest in the group...even if the picture is blurry!
And of course, a trip to California would not be complete without a trip to the beach...we are definitely sun worshipers!

And then, if the month weren't busy enough, Easter.  I love it when Easter and Conference combine to make a wonderful weekend.  We don't do "Easter bunny", but they ALL still love the hunt for baskets and eggs each year.  I love that they still get a kick out of a silly tradition!

Paige got a phone in her basket this year...oh dear, she's growing up!

You're almost caught up. :) Only 6 more months to go. Hehehe.
It sure is fun to see all these pics, even if they're "old".
I can hardly believe how much Megan (I think) looks like your mom in the Singing in the Rain pics!!! Such pretty girls you have. And talented! Way to go Paige and the BF choir! I didn't realize they did so well. I'm not surprised though. :)
