There is a song in one of our favorite movies that sings: " 'bout time, 'bout time, we had the taste of wasted time". Now mind you it is a love song, but we sing the " 'bout time" part around here a lot and now it seems it's 'bout time I update this blog of mine! Here are the month's events in chronological order. (Or you can skip the reading and just look at the pictures!)
Towards the end of March Jeff's parents came over to visit and play golf with Jeff's uncle, Uncle Lonnie. This of course means we went to Surprise for a yummy dinner and to see grandma and grandpa and Uncle Lonnie and Cathy. This time we took scooters and a friendly neighbor shared her sidewalk chalk with us. It was a gorgeous day and we succeed in wearing everyone out.
April Fool's was a no nothing day around here, so no pictures and nothing to tell. All we had was dirt dessert (thanks to Wendy). I am a little disappointed in myself about this and will try harder next year.
Easter - Conference Sunday. At first I was a little disappointed to not go to church (yeah right!) It was wonderful to stay home, watch my children find their Easter Baskets, hunt for eggs and eat chocolate while listening to the prophets speak and of course the wonderful music (always my favorite part).
That afternoon we spent a lovely evening at Wendy's with the best ham I have ever cooked. It was sweet and salty and gooey and juicy and tender. Now for me to say that is a big step, I am not a fan of ham unless it is a honey baked - but after this one I will never buy a honey baked again! Sorry no pictures of the ham but if you want the recipe it has become a "keeper" for us. It was such a yummy dinner with family. My most favorite part. We had so much food! In fact, there was enough for ONE MORE FAMILY! (hehehe!)
Jeff had his accident on the 17th and we spent most of that day in the hospital and then the next two days. He smacked his head pretty good (now he has a real excuse for forgetting things) and crushed his lungs causing him to pass out every time he sat or stood up. He managed to baffle the doctors for a day and a half and then finally came home where his children loved having him home for the week. He is doing much better now, just a little sore. Thank you to all who came rushing in to help with our children while I took care of Jeff, and thank you to all the well wishers, visitors and prayers said in our behalf. I have no pictures of this one - Jeff thanks me for that. Next time he crashesI will remember the camera!
Lastly, Paige's school had their annual Spring Sing. Grades 1-6 perform songs to attentive parents and family while we all have a picnic dinner on the school grounds. There is no way out of going. My children look forward to this all year. This year we sat with some good friends who shared our dessert with us and entertained us with some lovely dance numbers to some of the songs. All in all it was a great night.
As I look at this post I notice that it is mostly a journal post, sorry. Apparently my camera has been M.I.A. for much of the month. This next month is already proving to be a busy one and I promise to take lots of pictures and stay up to date better.

It is good to finally catch up with you. I talked with Grandma today on the way to church about Jeff and his accident. I am glad that he is feeling much better. What a scary time. Once again, your girls and their Easter dresses are just too cute for words. If you could send me the link again as to where you look I would love it, somehow I have misplaced it. Paige is getting so big, seriously where did the time go. Wish we could see you guys more often, but it is fun to catch up.
Looks like the Grays have been busy!!! I agree, where does the time go? The girls are all so big and growing up fast! We are excited about our move and no need to be jealous I hear you get to CA quite often, yes?!?!?!? It was fun to talk to you at Spring Sing! We'll be visiting AZ often and calling for a play date once in a while! :)
So fun, never a dull moment in the GRAY household! ;) Can't wait to come join the crazyness!!
HEY! All you have to do is let your mouse hover over the "here" and it will turn green. Then just click it! And your pictures of the dresses are darling!
It is so hard to remember to take pictures. You are SO much better at that than I am. Your example always motivates me. Glad everyone is healthy and happy at your home. Sounds like the Spring Sing was great. I'm actually looking forward to those school activities when the girls are in school because I'm curious to see what interests they each have.
You are going to have to post that ham recipe! I like ham and the one you described sounds mouth-wateringly delicious. Glad to get all caught up. Love the pic of Nathan looking for eggs alongside the pool. His silly face made me giggle.
What, no pictures of Jeff!!! I have been waiting and waiting and waiting!!! Tell him to make sure he films himself fall next time...or maybe just NOT have a next time. Cute Easter pictures of the kids and everything!
Seriously, could life be any MORE boring for you? It seems like your days are always filled with endless events and you seem to remember all the good things about them. Here's to great memories! Next year we'll join you at the spring sing with our own little performer. He may even out sing Megan and Haley!
Yeah! It was good to hear from you. I had no idea about Jeff's accident. Sounds like he(and you) are doing better. As always, I am so glad to see your adorable kiddos. And, as always, your devoted follower...
