End of a Month

The last week of May is always a busy one.  We have the end of the school year...a very exciting time.  I love having the monkies home all day, with little to no routine.  Pajama days and sitting by the pool, disneyland, California trips, Lake Powell...I look forward to it all.  This year was much the same with everyone graduating with top grades. Good enough  to get us 2 dozen doughnuts at Krispy Kreme! They have a program that kids get a free doughnut for every A on their report card (up to 6).  We've never done it before, but I can honestly say we will be back each grading period after this!

Jeff's birthday always occurs right at the end of the school year too. We love celebrating his birthday.  This year it was on Sunday, he spent most of the day in meetings, but we spent the time making homemade cards, steak and potatoes, and of course- Angel food cake with strawberries and Cool Whip.  He loved it.  Sarah decorated, a special treat, and we spent the afternoon celebrating my favorite guy.

If all that wasn't enough, Memorial day was Monday and we spent it the traditional way, in the pool.  Jeff's new grill (Treager) was up and running and we grilled burgers, dogs and corn on the cob.

To top it all off, I had my last surgery (elbow) after this stupid bike crash, and I am happy to report...it still hurts but it is getting better.  Just to let you know, they took out 4 pieces of bone and cartilage (I'm no longer a whole woman) from my elbow joint.  There is still a fracture, but nothing can be done for that except let it heal. Mom and Sarah came to pick up the pieces (of my life, not my elbow). They are my Florence Nightingales...couldn't have done it without them.  Mom left two days later, but Sarah stayed. Good thing Sarah is here to do my hair, the dishes, laundry, etc...don't know what I'd do without her, and for that matter what I'm going to do without her when she leaves tomorrow! I've started physical therapy and I'm trying to get back to normal use of my arm. I hate wait!!!! Oh well, now on to June!

I had no idea you had surgery. I hope you are able to get better. Aren't sisters the best? I am glad someone has been there to do your hair. (Yes, I am giggling as I type that, but I also mean it.) We all feel better when our hair looks good! Love you

Can't believe I missed another celebration! I hate not being there and being in the pool or eating the good food and fun. Happy birthday Jeff! Here's to another traegger party!

Glad your elbow is feeling better.
Let me know if you need help with anything now that your "Florences" are gone. :)
