Just for Reference

I know I mentioned earlier that Nathan had caught the racing bug from his dad. Here are a few pictures from Jeff's race.  He told me not too, but everyone knows I don't listen very well.
Here he is just before the race started.  The water was warmer than predicted and about 5 minutes into his race he peeled back his wetsuit and dragged it behind him.  It slowed him down quite a bit, but if you hadn't told me, I would never have known...he's still the fastest, strongest swimmer I know.
The transition to the bike.  He had 2 flat tires just while sitting in the holding area.  A very nice spectator helped me change and fix the tires (let's be honest, he did all the work) since Jeff was already in the water.
The big finish with the kids!
Then of course, what would a camping trip be without a little fishing? The weather was perfect, no fish took the bite, but we had fun anyway.

Right in front of our camping spot was a long, not too steep hill, that the monkeys occupied themselves in having skateboard races down.  I lived in continual fear that someone was going to "biff" it and send us to the emergency room, but they were safe and all smiles the whole time.

Later that month, Haley was chosen to help lead the morning flag ceremony.  Here she is with a couple of "besties" showing what number they were going to lead the school with in the skip counting portion of the morning routine.
And here's my shining star, counting away and finally posing with Mr. Lee, our beloved Principal.

Finally, just for documentation, here is my first ever Pinterest DIY project.  I love it.  It still needs few embellishments, but it makes towel hanging so much more fun!
That was it for September, even though the post date on this will show November...I'm still trying to catch up.  Up next...October.

I have been wondering what you have been up to! I agree, the pinterest project is totes ador (if you don't know, that's totally adorable.) You probably knew that; I didn't, and I had to google it after I heard the girls saying it all the time.
