Not Basketball

Nathan:  "Mom, I've played basketball for 3 years now.  I want to try something else."

Me: "Okay, how about baseball or just swimming?"

Nathan:  "No, how about soccer?"

Me:  "What's that?"

We don't do soccer at our house, I don't even know the first thing about the sport and it was pretty evident as I was walking around Sport Chalet trying to figure out what to buy.  I finally succumbed and called my brother Adam who lives and breathes the game.  I walked out fully equipped, not spending a fortune thanks to some great advice, and Nathan now plays soccer.  We go to every game and cheer, although none of us know what exactly is going on.  Jeff is going to practices and learning himself.  Nathan is pretty good.  We do often see the basketball kid come out in him as he will frequently put his hands up when they are getting ready to throw the ball in from the sidelines. And being the tallest (almost as tall as the coach), he's been able to head hit the ball a few times and even make it look like he was trying to!  He likes the game and sport, but yesterday he told me he's ready to try baseball ( a game we know and love) and maybe go back to basketball.  I guess he's just going to be very well rounded in sports!

Thanks again Adam for helping out a soccer mom retard!

Love the action shots. And you never know what they're going to love unless they try it out! Way to be a great mom and let your kids explore!

It was so fun to come a watch Nathan the few times we happened to be wandering through the park. He sure is a little sports stud! And as a complete aside, it meant a lot to Brig to see your cuties waiting for him at the finish line. We are so lucky to have such wonderful friends! Thank you!
